The Road Doesn't Ask: A Story of Freedom

The engine settles into that low, steady growl she knows by heart.

Dust. Leather. Gasoline. The scent of freedom before the ride even begins.

She pulls out of the lot, leaves the looks behind, leaves the questions behind, leaves everything that wants her to be smaller than she is.

Out here, the road doesn't ask where her boyfriend is.

It doesn't need to know who taught her to ride, or whether she's "sure" she can handle the bike, or if this is "really" her hobby or just a phase.

The road doesn't ask her to smile more. Doesn't tell her she'd be prettier if she wore something other than gear. Doesn't assume she wandered into the wrong lane by accident.

The road only asks one thing: Are you ready?

She always is.

The world outside her helmet melts away — the doubts, the noise, the weight of being watched and measured and found "surprising." Out here, she's not a woman on a bike. She's just a rider. Just speed and lean and instinct.

There's a version of her that used to ride cautiously. Who didn't want to seem like she was showing off.

That version got tired of making herself smaller for roads she'd already earned.

This version? She takes the curves like they belong to her. Because they do.

The road blurs past. Sky, trees, or sand — nothing but open space ahead.

She's not out here to prove anything to anyone.

She's out here because this is the only place that never asked her to be less.

She is enough. She is Unleashed.
